Creative Craft
Providing a practical course ranging from urban art, to crafts ,to fine art. Students benefit from project-based learning that is supported by theory and embeds skills and techniques. This supports students in creating businesses, considering work opportunities or to give an outlet for creative energy.

Course Outline
We are supported by the awarding body NCFE for our Creative Craft accreditations. All our courses are based on project-based learning with six projects taking place across the year. The projects build on prior knowledge, skills and behaviours, are presented as a commission from a customer, to link to industry and work towards producing a product or feature.
We begin each new year with a project that allows all students to get to know each other and helps us to build a team. The exact focus of each project is not set until Term 1 as the students decide this together. Previous Team Building projects have included, students designing the upkeep of our entrance including a throne, gate, birdhouse, and a pallet sofa! The colours were chosen, by the students, to match the Craftworks logo and design.
Our Creative Craft team are qualified and very experienced in the creative industry. We have an array of employers that we work with, who get involved in our projects and support relevant external work experience for our learners. Many of our students go on to work in the creative industry or further develop their skills at higher education.

We run courses from Entry Level to Level 3
across Swale and Ashford sites.

Pathways
At Craftworks College, we are aware that all our students progress at their own rate therefore our pathways adopt the waves model of intervention to enable all students to succeed from their individual starting points. Students capable of achieving a full qualification follow the Universal Pathway. Student that need their learning broken into smaller steps follow the Targeted Pathway, here they focus on one unit at a time and achieve Unit Accreditation. Students that require our Specialist Pathway have a bespoke timetable which breaks learning down into even smaller steps to ensure that they are able to achieve at their own specific level.
