Each student that comes to us is an individual. We use the waves to support them and have a SENCo, team of therapists, wellbeing support staff, progressions team, safeguarding as well as tutors and teaching associates. Craftworks College is more than coming in to learn the knowledge and the skills for a qualification. It is a place to make friends, grow your life skills and consider the options for your next steps, in a supported and empowering environment.

Student Journey Stages
Every student is treated as an individual
Each student who joins Craftworks is treated as an individual. We take time to understand their starting point, strengths, support needs and goals, then build a programme around what will help them progress.
Students are supported through a personalised approach that may include teaching, targeted support and specialist intervention where needed. This can include support from tutors, teaching assistants, the SENCo, therapists, wellbeing staff, safeguarding staff and the progressions team.
The right support at the right time
We use the Waves approach to make sure students receive the right level of support at the right time.
Wave 1 is high-quality everyday personalised teaching. This includes clear objectives, carefully explained learning, practical activities, visual support and teaching that helps students build confidence and independence.
Wave 2 provides additional targeted support for students who need extra help to make progress. This may include smaller group work, focused intervention or additional support with a specific area of learning.
Wave 3 provides more specialist support for students with higher or more individual needs. This support is tailored to the student and reviewed so that it continues to meet their needs.
Recognising progress in different ways
Progress may be recorded through recognised qualifications, smaller accredited units, components of learning, or RARPA: Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement.
This helps us set meaningful targets, evidence progress and support each student towards their next steps.Craftworks College is more than a place to gain qualifications. Preparing for the future
As part of the Brogdale CIC group, Craftworks works alongside Brogdale CIC and VIBE Community to offer students additional opportunities through work experience, community projects and youth provision.
These links help students practise skills in real settings, develop confidence in the community and prepare for their next stage.
